Mandai Nature, a Singapore-based non-profit conservation organisation jointly set up by Temasek and Mandai Wildlife Group (MWG) which manages the city-state’s zoological parks including Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders and Bird Paradise. Mandai Nature is the conservation arm of Mandai Wildlife Group and was established with the aim of advancing efforts on biodiversity protection in Singapore and Asia.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. End-to-End Risk Framework Development & Management
  • Enterprise Risk: Design, maintain, and evolve the overarching Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders and compliance requirements.
  • Grant-Giving & Donor Risk: Provide guidance to the Head of Grant Management and Head of Fundraising to develop and implement robust frameworks to evaluate donor legitimacy, manage partner and fund-disbursement risks, and ensure compliance with local anti-money laundering (AML) and countering the financing of terrorism (CFT) requirements.
  • Health, Safety & Environment: Build on MWG’s existing Health & Safety frameworks to provide guidance to Mandai Nature’s Health & Safety representative and programme leads who will to identify and mitigate workplace health and safety hazards, securing the well-being of staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries.
  • Crisis Management & Resilience: Work closely with senior management team to develop organisational crisis response protocols, business continuity plans, and incident management frameworks.
  • Programme Risk: Provide guidance toprogramme leads to establish frameworks to assess risks associated with localized and community-facing operations, program rollouts, and service delivery partnerships.
  1. Stakeholder Enablement, Advisory & Implementation
  • Framework Implementation: Drive the hands-on adoption of all risk frameworks across all departments, translating policy into practical, daily operations.
  • Risk Advisory: Serve as the trusted advisor to internal teams, providing clear, actionable guidance on acceptable risk thresholds, boundaries, and compliance parameters.
  • Mitigation Planning: Partner with department heads to review existing gaps, co-create practical risk mitigation plans, and monitor the progress of corrective actions.
  • Culture & Capability Building: Conduct workshops and regular training sessions to upskill internal stakeholders on risk identification and compliance ownership.
  1. Contractual & Collaboration Risk Management
  • Contractual Risk Review: Support team members on specific contractual terms or risks and liaise with in-house legal counsel to identify and manage the risks.

Vendor & Partner Due Diligence: Develop risk assessment protocols for third-party service providers, vendors, and collaborative partners to safeguard the organization's assets and reputation.

  1. Local Governance & Compliance Stewardship
  • Board secretarial support: Provide secretariat support for Board and Board Committee meetings, including minute-taking, and the preparation of meeting minutes and action items. Liaise with external corporate secretarial service providers and relevant stakeholders to support governance and compliance requirements, including statutory declarations, regulatory filings, and other obligations under the Companies Act and applicable regulations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Actively monitor updates to Singapore's local non-profit statutory landscape (including Commissioner of Charities , Institute of a Public Character, and Personal Data Protection Act for beneficiary data) to ensure organisational practices remain fully compliant.

Reporting & Governance: Maintain the unified organizational risk register, providing data-driven risk reports directly to the COO and / or CEO. Audit Readiness: Coordinate internal reviews and external compliance audits, ensuring the organization remains constantly "audit-ready" for regulators and institutional donors.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Law, Legal Studies, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6 to 8 years of broad-based risk management experience, with proven success in managing diverse risk domains (operational, and contractual).
  • Experience in developing enterprise risk management frameworks and governance processes from the ground up.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and non-profit contracts, with the ability to identify legal and organisational risks.
  • Proven ability to translate complex statutory and regulatory requirements into practical, user-friendly internal policies and procedures.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across functions without direct authority.
  • Strong coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and advise stakeholders at all levels.
  • Good knowledge of Singapore's non-profit sector, including the regulatory requirements for Institutions of a Public Character (IPC), the Code of Governance (COG), and relevant statutory and compliance frameworks, is advantageous
