As part of their continued growth and commitment to operational excellence, they are seeking an experienced Road Network Manager to drive transport performance, optimise network efficiency, and support strategic business objectives.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Transport Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the road transport network across multiple locations, ensuring service excellence, cost efficiency, and operational reliability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing road transport network strategies to improve service levels and optimise costs.
- Managing carrier relationships, contract negotiations, and transport vendor performance.
- Analysing network performance data and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Leading transport planning initiatives to maximise fleet utilisation and route efficiency.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders across operations, warehousing, customer service, and commercial teams.
- Ensuring compliance with all transport regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Driving operational excellence through process improvements, performance monitoring, and KPI management.
- Supporting business growth through scalable transport solutions and network expansion projects.
- Leading and developing a team of transport and logistics professionals.
What you'll need to succeed
- A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience managing road transportation networks within a 3PL, logistics, freight forwarding, or distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of transport planning, carrier management, routing optimisation, and freight operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Experience working with transport management systems (TMS) and logistics technology platforms.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- A continuous improvement mindset with experience driving operational and cost efficiencies.
