[What the role is]
School of Business - Lecturer (Common Business Programme)
[What you will be working on]
As a Lecturer with the School of Business, you will play a key role in nurturing future-ready graduates through authentic, learner-centred education and close industry collaboration. You will be expected to:
- Facilitate engaging and experiential learning using Republic Polytechnic's Problem-Based Learning (PBL) pedagogy and other learner-centred approaches.
- Contribute to programme development, quality assurance, academic administration, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the student learning experience.
- Design, develop, review, and deliver industry-relevant curricula that equip students with the knowledge, skills and competencies required by the accounting profession.
- Build and sustain strong partnerships with industry to support curriculum innovation, student internships, student industry projects, and capability development initiatives.
- Mentor students in their academic, career and personal development, including coaching student teams, overseeing internships, projects and supporting student life and leadership programmes.
- Teach and contribute to one or more of the following areas:
o Financial and Management Accounting o Audit & Assurance o Taxation o Sustainable Finance ESG & Sustainability Reporting o AI & Digital Technologies in Accounting o Risk, Regulatory Compliance and Corporate Governance o Business Law and Company Law
[What we are looking for]
- Relevant qualifications in accounting, or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification will be an advantage.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CA Singapore, ICAEW, CPA Australia or equivalent are preferred.
- At least 5 years of relevant industry experience in accounting, audit, taxation, sustainability reporting, risk management, or regulatory compliance.
- Passion for developing youths and adult learners through innovative and applied learning approaches.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage PET students, adult learners, colleagues, and industry partners effectively.
- Ability to lead projects, build industry partnerships and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in teaching, curriculum development, or training will be an advantage.
