[What the role is]
School of Engineering - Lecturer (Electrical Engineering, Communications & Next-Generation Connectivity)
[What you will be working on]
- Deliver and develop lessons in electrical engineering, electronics and communications engineering.
- Teach topics such as circuit analysis, analogue and digital electronics, instrumentation, communication systems, RF fundamentals, antennas, optical fibre communications, wireless communications and communication networks.
- Deliver emerging topics including 5G/5G-Advanced, 6G fundamentals, Open RAN, private 5G, IoT/AIoT, LPWAN, edge computing, cloud-native telecommunications and smart-city connectivity.
- Develop laboratories and projects involving AI-enabled wireless communications, network optimisation, intelligent radio resource management, AI-assisted network planning, network analytics and AI-native communications systems.
- Develop and conduct CET programmes, including Specialist Diploma and Part-time Diploma courses.
- Supervise student projects, internships and applied learning activities.
- Collaborate with industry and university partners on curriculum development, applied projects and industry engagement.
- Support outreach activities, student development and administrative duties.
[What we are looking for]
- Strong fundamentals in electronics, electrical engineering, communications and networking.
- Knowledge or exposure in one or more areas:
- Wireless or mobile communications
- Communication networks and IP networking
- RF systems or optical communications
- 5G/5G-Advanced, IoT or edge computing
- Interest or experience in AI/ML applications for communications, such as:
- AI-enabled network optimisation
- Network analytics
- Intelligent wireless planning
- Predictive network maintenance
- AI-assisted communications systems
- Ability to utilise AI tools for engineering, teaching and applied projects.
- Passion for teaching, mentoring and engaging youths.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
