About the role

The Senior/ Accountant supports the Accounting Manager in overseeing accounting, financial and statutory reporting, tax compliance, treasury, government grant administration, and related controls. The role ensures the integrity of the general ledger, timely and accurate reporting to Headquarters and authorities, effective audit support, and continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, maintain accurate accounting records, and ensure the integrity of the general ledger
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve reconciling items on a timely basis
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
  • Prepare financial schedules, management reports, and supporting documentation for financial reporting purposes
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation, submission, and compliance with all tax filing requirements, including Corporate Income Tax and Goods and Services Tax (GST)
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for claims under Economic Development Board (EDB) grants, including claim schedules, cost support, reconciliations, and required declarations
  • Coordinate and manage EDB grant audits, including the collection, validation, organization, and timely submission of evidence from relevant functions
  • Manage the fixed asset accounting process, including identification, recording, valuation, capitalization, and disposal of fixed assets
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules, documentation, and responding to audit queries
  • Support implementation and enhancement of accounting systems, including SAP, digitalization initiatives, and process improvement projects

About you

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant accounting and tax experience, preferably within a multinational company environment
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, taxation, and financial reporting requirements
  • Experience in month-end closing, general ledger management, and statutory compliance
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (ideally hands-on experience with SAP), and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
