Senior AI Risk Management Specialist, Group Risk

Lead the Group’s AI risk management function, providing end-to-end oversight of AI policy stack development, independent risk assessment and assurance, and AI risk operations. The role is accountable for ensuring AI is deployed in a safe, responsible, and compliant manner, while maintaining effective governance, risk visibility, and regulatory alignment across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and continuously enhance the Group’s AI risk management practices, policy stack, and governance model.
• Direct the independent review and assurance programme for AI initiatives, ensuring risks, controls, and mitigations are adequately assessed
• Oversee AI inventory management, risk reporting, key risk indicators, issue management, and ongoing monitoring of AI risks.
• Ensure effective oversight of AI risks related to third-party.
• Monitor regulatory developments and drive alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Advise senior management and governance committees on emerging AI risks, risk posture, and strategic priorities.
• Foster a strong AI risk culture through training, awareness, and stakeholder engagement across the organisation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
• Experienced in governance, operational risk, technology risk, non-financial risk management, compliance, or related functions
• Experience designing, implementing, or maintaining governance frameworks, operating models, oversight processes, or accountability structures
• Experience operating within a regulated environment, preferably in financial services

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of governance frameworks, operating models, accountability structures, and risk oversight practices
• Ability to design and implement governance structures, decision-making forums, escalation pathways, and oversight mechanisms
• Good understanding of AI and related concepts, including associated governance, ethical, regulatory, and risk considerations
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including engagement with senior management and executive stakeholders
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
