Join SingHealth's Office of Deputy Group Chief Medical Informatics Officer (Research) and play a pivotal role in shaping how research is conducted across Singapore's largest public healthcare cluster. This position sits at the intersection of research operations, healthcare technology and healthcare data, contributing directly to the data science infrastructure that enables scientific discovery at scale.

You will support the design, development and operation of data science platforms, pipelines and services, as part of a team that builds SingHealth's data science platforms and infrastructure. These enable clinicians, researchers and operational teams to work with trusted, governed and high-quality data.

Key Responsibilities

You will design, develop and maintain data pipelines across clinical, operational, registry, administrative, imaging, genomic and pathology datasets. You will also validate, reconcile and standardise controls to ensure data quality and reliability.

You will operate and improve enterprise and research data platforms, provision approved datasets and workspaces in line with governance requirements, and monitor, troubleshoot and optimise services for stability and security. You will curate datasets and maintain metadata, data catalogues and data dictionaries to improve discoverability, reusability and reproducibility.

You will implement access controls, de-identification and secure data linkage requirements, and maintain audit trails and documentation for compliance reviews. You will also automate repeatable engineering, operational and reporting processes, improve service delivery, and translate stakeholder requirements into technical solutions with appropriate documentation and handover support.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)-related field with at least 1.5 years of relevant experience, or a degree in a non-STEM field with at least 4 years of relevant experience
  • Fresh Graduates are welcome to apply and will be considered for the position of Analyst, Data Science
  • Relevant experience in data engineering, computational engineering, data architecture, data management, analytics platforms, informatics or related areas
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python and/or R, with hands-on experience in Extract, Transform, Load / Extract, Load, Transform (ETL/ELT) processes, data modelling, workflow automation and data quality management
  • Experience with healthcare data, clinical systems, research data platforms, cloud data platforms or modern data engineering tools such as Apache Spark, APIs, DevOps or Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and containerisation would be advantageous
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a detail-oriented and proactive approach to managing data-related projects and issues
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with researchers, clinicians and technology teams across a complex organisation
  • An adaptable and a fast learner, with comfort navigating new technical domains
