Senior Associate / Assistant Manager – Business Intelligence

Job overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Associate / Assistant Manager, Business Intelligence to join the Data Analytics & Business Insights team supporting the Singapore market.

The role is responsible for translating business requirements and priorities into effective Business Intelligence solutions, including dashboards, reports and analytical tools that enable data-driven decision making across the organization.

The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and the Data & Analytics team to understand business needs, develop meaningful insights, and deliver scalable and user-friendly Power BI solutions. The role will also support data preparation, data quality, data modelling and integration activities to ensure reliable and consistent reporting.

The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to translate complex data into simple and actionable business insights.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Intelligence & Dashboard Development

• Design, develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision making across functions such as Marketing, Operations, Training, Human Capital, Supply Chain, Development and Risk.
• Develop analytical solutions that provide meaningful insights into business performance, trends, opportunities and areas requiring attention.
• Translate business requirements and analytical needs into effective dashboard layouts, data models, measures and visualizations.
• Ensure dashboards are user-friendly, scalable, accurate and aligned with business objectives.
• Continuously enhance existing reports based on business feedback, changing requirements and new analytical opportunities.

2. Data Analysis & Insights

• Analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, opportunities and potential business issues.
• Perform data cleansing, transformation, validation and reconciliation to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis and investigate data anomalies or unexpected business results.
• Develop meaningful KPIs, metrics and analytical measures to support business performance monitoring.
• Translate analytical findings into clear business insights and recommendations for stakeholders and management.
• Proactively identify opportunities where data and analytics can improve business performance and operational effectiveness.

3. Data Modelling & SQL

• Develop and maintain efficient data models to support Power BI reporting and analytics requirements.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform and analyze data from various data sources.
• Work with Data Engineers to ensure required datasets are available, reliable and fit for reporting purposes.
• Support the development and enhancement of data warehouse structures, data marts and reporting datasets where required.
• Ensure appropriate data definitions, business rules and transformation logic are documented and consistently applied.

4. Business Requirements & Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with business users to understand requirements, objectives, processes and expected outcomes.
• Participate in requirement-gathering sessions, workshops and discussions to define reporting and analytics requirements.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical and analytical specifications for development.
• Work closely with the Manager, Demand Management & Process Excellence to ensure BI initiatives are aligned with the prioritized business demand pipeline.
• Communicate technical concepts, data limitations and analytical findings effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and support to business users on the effective use of BI dashboards and data.

5. Reporting & Analytics Delivery

• Manage assigned BI initiatives from requirement gathering through development, testing, deployment and post-implementation support.
• Ensure deliverables are completed within agreed timelines, scope and quality standards.
• Perform testing and validation of dashboards, reports, data models and calculations before deployment.
• Monitor the performance and reliability of published reports and proactively address data or reporting issues.
• Maintain appropriate documentation for dashboards, data sources, business rules and calculations.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• 3–6 years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Visualization or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Power BI, including dashboard development, data modelling, DAX and Power Query.
• Strong SQL skills with experience working with relational databases and multiple data sources.
• Good understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modelling and data integration concepts.
• Experience in data cleansing, transformation, validation and reconciliation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
• Good understanding of business KPIs and performance measurement.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver analytics solutions.
• Good communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Python or other analytics/automation technologies would be an advantage.
• Willing and able to travel twice per quarter as when required
