Senior Associate / Assistant Manager – Data Solution Engineering

Job overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Associate / Assistant Manager, Data Solution Engineering to join the Data Analytics & Business Insights team supporting the Singapore market.

The role is responsible for developing and maintaining data, application and digital solutions that enable business operations, automation and data-driven decision making. The candidate will work across application development, data engineering, system integration, data warehousing, automation and business intelligence to deliver reliable and scalable solutions for the business.

The role will work closely with the Manager, Demand Management & Process Excellence to translate prioritized business requirements into effective technical solutions. The candidate is expected to be hands-on, proactive and solution-oriented, with strong technical and analytical capabilities and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Engineering & Integration

• Design, develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to support business reporting and analytics.
• Develop automated data extraction and integration processes from APIs, SFTP, SQL databases and external systems.
• Integrate data from multiple sources into centralized data platforms and data warehouse environments.
• Ensure data is processed accurately, consistently and within agreed timelines.
• Monitor data pipelines and proactively identify and resolve integration, processing and data quality issues.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation and transformation to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
• Optimize data pipelines and data workflows for improved performance, scalability and maintainability.

2. Application & Digital Solution Development

• Develop, enhance and maintain internal web applications, digital platforms and business solutions.
• Translate business requirements into appropriate technical solutions and application designs.
• Develop new features, system enhancements and integrations based on approved business requirements.
• Troubleshoot application issues, bugs and performance-related problems.
• Monitor application availability, performance and stability.
• Support system upgrades, enhancements and deployment activities.
• Maintain appropriate technical documentation, system specifications and development standards.
• Ensure applications are secure, user-friendly and aligned with business requirements.

3. Automation & Process Digitalization

• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive and manual business processes through technology and data solutions.
• Design and implement automation solutions to improve operational efficiency, data availability and reporting timeliness.
• Integrate applications, data sources and business processes to improve end-to-end workflows.
• Evaluate and adopt appropriate technologies to improve business capabilities and productivity.
• Monitor and continuously improve existing automation solutions.
• Work with business stakeholders to measure the effectiveness and benefits of implemented automation initiatives.

4. Solution Delivery & Project Management

• Work closely with the Manager, Demand Management & Process Excellence to deliver prioritised projects and initiatives.
• Support project planning, technical estimation, delivery timelines and resource requirements.
• Manage assigned technical deliverables from requirements and solution design through development, testing, deployment and post-implementation support.
• Coordinate technical activities across Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, IT, business stakeholders and external technology partners.
• Monitor project progress, technical risks, issues and dependencies.
• Ensure solutions are delivered within agreed scope, timeline and quality standards.
• Support user acceptance testing, deployment and post-implementation activities.

5. Stakeholder Management & Technical Support

• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand technical requirements, business objectives and expected outcomes.
• Act as a technical liaison between business users, Data & Analytics teams, IT and external vendors.
• Provide technical guidance and support to business users and internal teams.
• Translate technical concepts and system limitations into clear and understandable business language.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, data pipeline, integration and reporting issues.
• Provide timely technical support and ensure appropriate communication with stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain technical and process documentation to support knowledge sharing and continuity.

6. Data Governance, Security & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure data and digital solutions comply with agreed data governance, security and technology standards.
• Support appropriate data access, security and confidentiality controls.
• Maintain data integrity and quality across integrated systems and reporting platforms.
• Ensure appropriate documentation of data sources, data flows, transformation logic and technical processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, data quality, scalability and operational efficiency.
• Stay updated on emerging data, cloud, automation and technology capabilities that can provide business value.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
• 4–8 years of relevant experience in data engineering, application development, business intelligence, system integration or related fields.
• Strong hands-on experience in SQL, relational databases, ETL/ELT and data pipeline development.
• Experience developing and managing integrations using APIs, SFTP, databases and external systems.
• Good understanding of data warehouse architecture, data modelling and data integration concepts.
• Programming experience in one or more languages such as Python, C#, JavaScript, Java or similar.
• Experience in application/web development, system enhancement and application maintenance.
• Experience with automation and workflow technologies is an advantage.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, AWS or GCP is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good project management and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver solutions within agreed timelines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willing and able to travel twice per quarter as when required
