Description of position:

We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our Banking & Finance / Debt Capital Markets practice.

The role involves leading the execution of complex DCM and financing transactions across Malaysia and ASEAN.

You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating primary transaction documents, providing commercially grounded advice on structuring and regulatory matters, coordinating with clients and other stakeholders, and ensuring timely delivery of all workstreams.

The position is well-suited for candidates ready to take on greater ownership, engage directly with clients, and contribute to mentoring junior team members, while working within a dynamic, solutions-oriented practice.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent; admitted to the Malaysian Bar.
• 4–7+ years PQE in Banking & Finance, Debt Capital Markets or related practices.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills with the ability to translate commercial terms into clear and precise legal documentation.
• Solid technical understanding of capital markets regulations, financing structures, and transaction mechanics.
• Demonstrated ability to lead workstreams independently, manage timelines, and deliver high-quality work under pressure.
• Commercially minded with sound judgement and a solutions-oriented approach.
• Confident communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with clients, counterparties and stakeholders.
• Ability to supervise and mentor junior lawyers.
