Eastern General Hospital (EGH) is a 1,000-bed hospital in Bedok North that will provide a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient clinical specialties and healthcare services, covering emergency, acute and secondary care. As a digitally enabled and patient-centred hospital, it will leverage innovative technologies to provide excellent care, and journey closely with patients and the community towards healthier, more fulfilling lives.

We are looking for a motivated individual to join the Finance team of Eastern General Hospital (EGH) and play a key role in establishing and managing our payroll administration and operations, while supporting the implementation and enhancement of payroll-related systems for the new hospital.

In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end administration and processing of payroll, ensuring timely and accurate salary payments, payroll reconciliation and statutory submissions. You will also work closely with HR, Finance and other stakeholders on payroll system implementation, user acceptance testing (UAT), data validation, process documentation and continuous improvement.

You will also support the administration of compensation-related payments and provide payroll and manpower cost information for financial reporting and management analysis.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage and administer monthly payroll processing and payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
  • Perform payroll checking, validation, reconciliation and resolution of payroll discrepancies
  • Prepare payroll journals and support monthly and year-end financial closing
  • Support statutory and payroll-related submissions, claims and reporting
  • Administer compensation-related payments and schemes in collaboration with HR
  • Support the implementation, testing and enhancement of payroll systems, including requirements gathering, UAT, data validation and reconciliation
  • Maintain payroll procedures, controls and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Analyse payroll and manpower costs and support management reporting and dashboards
  • Work closely with HR, Finance and other stakeholders to improve and streamline payroll processes

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 - 4 years of relevant payroll administration / payroll processing experience, preferably in a large or complex organisation
  • Good knowledge of end-to-end payroll processes, payroll reconciliation and statutory requirements
  • Experience with payroll or HR systems; SAP payroll experience would be an advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail
  • Able to manage payroll timelines and work accurately within tight deadlines
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across HR, Finance and other stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and committed to continuous process improvement
