Job Summary:

The Senior Costume Specialist supports the lead and duty manager in ensuring consistent costume and prop presentation across all entertainment offerings, while overseeing daily care such as washing, ironing, and maintenance coordination. They manage costume issuance, perform dresser duties including quick changes and wardrobe tracking, and provide technical guidance to the team. With expertise in costume repair and upkeep, they help maintain production quality and train new team members by sharing best practices and various protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the lead/duty manager in costume operations across shows, meet & greet sessions, and parades, ensuring continuity and consistency in costume and prop presentation.
  • Monitor costumes and maintain or request for maintenance as appropriate (includes hand washing, dry cleaning etc).
  • Handle day to day washing, drying and steam ironing of costume pieces and inner wear.
  • Manage costume issuance and checks with cast.
  • Rectify and repair costumes, props and accessories as directed, to maintain the production quality of shows.
  • Render costume dresser services to support RWS Entertainment productions. Services include quick change, preset and standard wardrobe track duties.
  • Provide team members with accurate information to facilitate informed maintenance or service decisions.
  • Train and guide team members, sharing technical knowledge and best practices to enhance overall operations performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • GCE N/O/A Levels, ITE Certificate or Diploma in related disciplines.
  • 2-3 years of related working experience in theatrical, film, television or service industry.

Skills / Attributes:

  • Good guest service and communication skills.
  • Team player with good interpersonal and people skills.
  • Good knowledge of costume etiquette including backstage and fitting protocols.
  • Good knowledge of laundry and the ability to execute and use commercial machines.
  • Knowledge in hand sewing, fabric handling and maintenance.
  • Class 3 driver’s license (We require the incumbent to transport costumes to various locations within the park when necessary).
  • Good physical stamina and resilience, and able to assist with lifting of mascots and costume parts of up to 10kg.
  • Able to perform shift work, and willing to work during evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • Able to stand for long hours and work in an environment where there can be hot, humid and wet weather.
