About the Role

The Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Senior Executive joins FairPrice Group's Grocery Business WSH team to drive safety excellence across Supermarket Formats, Unity, and Cheers. Partnering with operational heads and management, this role guides WSH program implementation, ensures regulatory compliance, and fosters a proactive safety culture across retail sites in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

WSH Management & Implementation

• Implement, maintain and continuously improve Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) management systems, policies, and procedures across the Retail Business.
• To develop WSH KPI, Creating analytical reports of safety data for operations and safety awareness programmes to promote safety & health culture mind-set.
• Conduct annual WSH audits & peak period's inspections to identify hazards, non-conformities and opportunities for improvement via Safety Audits Management System (SAMS).
• Prepare and issue Monthly WSH Reports with leading indicator tracking and share with Format GMs and Group Managers.
• Partner with operations format's head and Management teams to integrate WSH best practices and advise Business Units (BUs) on WSH issues and compliance requirements.
• Conduct investigations into workplace incidents, accidents and near misses, identify root causes, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop, review and maintain WSH documentation, including:
• Risk Assessments (RA)
• Safe Work Procedures (SWPs)
• Standard Operating procedures (SOPs)
• Mandatory WSH training for safety orientations, Risk Management
• Implementation (RMI), Occupational First Aid (OFA) and other statutory documentation

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with the Singapore Workplace Safety and Health Act (WSHA), its subsidiary legislation, relevant Codes of Practice, and FairPrice Group's internal WSH standards.
• Liaise with MOM, SCDF, and other authorities on inspections, complaints, and fire safety issues, ensuring timely closure.
• Monitor WSH performance indicators and analyze trends to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Serve as Secretary for Monthly WSH Committee Meetings, ensuring all action items are closed and initiatives tracked.
• Conduct quarterly legal compliance reviews and share updates with all Group Managers.
• Review, vet, and approve staff and customer injury reports in the Claims Management System to prevent late MOM reporting.

Training & Safety Culture

• Track and ensure 100% compliance with mandatory WSH training (RMI, In-house Mandatory e-learning, occupational first aid certifications).
• Promote a positive safety culture through engagement programmes, campaigns and regular safety communications.
• Provide WSH guidance and advisory support to all supermarket stores on workplace safety matters.
• To carry out any other task assigned by the reporting officer.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Workplace Safety & Health, Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
• Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) is preferred.
• Candidates with a strong interest in Workplace Safety & Health and a willingness to learn and grow professionally are encouraged to apply.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant WSH experience, preferably in the food services, retail, manufacturing or related industries.
• Good knowledge of Singapore Workplace Safety & Health legislation and industry best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Ability to engage stakeholders across different levels of the organization.
• Proficient in Excel, Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Data Studio and Drive).
• Willingness to travel to various retail locations across Singapore.
• Self-motivated, organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
