SENIOR LEGAL COUNSEL

About the role

This role involves directly managing and handling global dispute and litigation matters, interfacing with local subsidiaries, law firms, and relevant institutions worldwide. You will be based in Malaysia and travel globally to support dispute and litigation matters, managing litigation and dispute cases within assigned regions, and developing professional capabilities in dispute resolution.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Directly manage and handle global dispute and litigation, interfacing with local subsidiaries, law firms, and relevant institutions worldwide, including but not limited to legal research and analysis, evidence organization and acquisition, document preparation, and trial, to effectively resolve various dispute and litigation.
2. Rapid response and coordinated handling of various emergency incidents, including developing emergency response plans and coordinating regional resources.
3. Manage the litigation and dispute matters within the assigned region, including updating the status of litigation and disputes, tracking the progress of the entire process, managing overall risk exposure, and coordinating and resolving requests for assistance from various litigation and dispute matters.
4. Responsible for the accumulation and development of professional capabilities in dispute and litigation matters within the assigned region, and providing standardized and scenario-based comprehensive solutions for dispute and litigation.
5. Responsible for the development, expansion, and maintenance of legal resources related to dispute and litigation matters in the assigned region.

Job Requirements:

• LL.B (Hons) from a recognized university and admitted to the Malaysian Bar (or equivalent qualification)
• Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm, focusing on litigation and dispute resolution matters
• Capable of directly handling cross-border dispute litigation-related work
• Experience in cross-border litigation/arbitration or other related dispute resolution areas is preferred
• Solid legal foundation in dispute resolution and litigation with extensive practical litigation experience
• Able to independently handle complex and challenging litigation/arbitration cases
• Capable of independently handling various emergency situations
• Outstanding logical thinking, problem-solving, and communication and negotiation skills, with strong written proficiency
• Team management capabilities, meticulous and responsible in work, with strong stress resistance
• Willing to continuously improve professional competence in litigation
