A smart digital infrastructure organisation is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their Singapore office.
Your new role
Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, this role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with senior business leaders, research teams, and international stakeholders, providing strategic legal support across a broad range of commercial, research, and cross-border transactions.
The ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor who can balance legal risk with business objectives while operating in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on a wide range of commercial matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contractual arrangements to support business operations and strategic initiatives.
- Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of research collaboration agreements, ensuring legal compliance while enabling innovation and partnership opportunities.
- Advise on and negotiate complex cross-border commercial agreements, including:
- Marketing agreements
- Collaboration agreements
- Teaming agreements
- Consortium agreements
- International sales of goods and services contracts
- Partner closely with senior management and key internal stakeholders to deliver practical, business-focused legal advice that aligns with organisational objectives and risk management strategies.
- Act as a strategic legal business partner by proactively identifying risks, recommending solutions, and supporting decision-making processes.
- Manage and coordinate with external legal counsel on matters involving foreign jurisdictions and specialised legal requirements, ensuring timely and cost-effective outcomes.
- Monitor and interpret relevant legal and regulatory developments affecting the business, providing clear guidance on potential impacts and compliance obligations.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified lawyer with strong experience in commercial contracting and corporate advisory work.
- Proven expertise in negotiating and drafting complex commercial and collaboration agreements.
- Experience supporting international business transactions and managing cross-border legal matters.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence senior leaders.
- Commercially astute, pragmatic, and solution-oriented approach to legal problem-solving.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across diverse teams and jurisdictions.
