Responsibilities

  • Test, calibrate, and assure all instruments in service at the facility are accurate.
  • Repair and resolve problems encountered with instruments in a timely fashion.
  • Understand and be proficient working with the facility computer systems, i.e. DCS, PLC’s, flow computers, and analyzers and perform all required preventative and predictive maintenance on these systems and components.
  • Interact with instrument manufacturers and representatives to stay current with the latest trends in instrumentation and keep the facility “State of the Art” with updates etc.
  • Participate in emergency drills, safety meetings, and training seminars as required.
  • Train other facility personnel in the proper way to operate instruments and recognize problems before they escalate.
  • Practice continuous improvement and teamwork in order to be a positive force in the maintenance department.
  • Is committed to attend all training courses as per the written training plan.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as directed by the, I&E supervisor.
  • Preference will be given to a candidate that has proven experience in the start-up of a grass roots hydrocarbon processing facility.
  • Carry out repairs on control system as necessary.
  • Perform all required calibration on analytical equipment.
  • Be proficient in plant analysers, such as fiscal metering equipment, cryogenic measurement, sampling and analysis.
  • Repair and maintain all laboratory instrument and equipment including GLCs, hygrometers, LEL meters etc.
  • Work closely with the SLNG terminal Maintenance and Operations team, and various disciplines within maintenance the operating team and the plant laboratory.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Instrumentation and Control technology including DCS, PLCs F&Gs and Emergency shut down systems.
  • Proven technical experience in Instrumentation and control systems in a cryogenic hydrocarbon producing or handling plant. Power and other type of plant experience will be considered. Knowledge of cryogenics and aspects of the natural gas industry a mandatory and must be acquired through company, EPC or vendor provided training.
  • Working knowledge of both conventional pneumatic, hydraulic and electronic instrumentation, & components.
  • Ability to read piping and electrical schematics and P&IDs, PFDs logic diagram and decipher technical manuals on a variety of specially designed instrument components used in the cryogenic industry.
  • Skill in general wet chemistry techniques.
  • Experience in operating and maintaining Gas Chromatograph.
  • Basic laboratory safety skills (Management of Change procedures, MSDS system, chemical storage, waste disposal, proper handling of toxic or hazardous chemicals).
  • Good exposure and experience with dynamic control room type setting, stream analyzers and sampling systems.
