Senior Manager, Mechanical & Electrical (M&E)

Duties & Responsibilities
- Planning & Design Stage
- Review and evaluate M&E design drawings, calculations, and technical specifications prepared by consultants to ensure alignment with project requirements, cost targets, and compliance with local authority regulations (e.g., ST, SPAN, BOMBA, TNB, IWK, and Local Councils).
- Provide strategic input during concept and schematic design stages to achieve cost-effective, efficient, and sustainable M&E systems.
- Collaborate with the Head of Project to understand development requirements and feasibility parameters, and ensure all M&E designs meet the approved budget and design intent.
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, civil, and landscape teams to resolve design interfaces, technical discrepancies, and ensure seamless multidisciplinary integration.
- Recommend innovative, up-to-date, and state-of-the-art solutions in M&E systems, including sustainable technologies, energy-efficient systems, smart building applications, and dynamic QR code solutions.
- Oversee infrastructure design and implementation requirements for landed developments, including authority submissions and liaison with relevant agencies (Local Council, TNB, ST, SPAN, IWK, etc.).
- Tender Stage
- Support the Contracts Department during the tender process by reviewing tender drawings and technical specifications.
- Participate in tender clarifications, evaluations, and interviews to ensure technical and commercial consistency.
- Provide professional advice on value engineering and alternative design proposals that optimise cost and performance without compromising regulatory compliance.
- Construction & Implementation Stage
- Provide technical oversight and guidance on M&E implementation to ensure works are aligned with approved drawings, specifications, design intent, and applicable standards.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submissions, and method statements.
- Conduct coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and project teams to resolve design and technical issues promptly.
- Ensure that M&E testing, commissioning, and handover requirements are properly coordinated and meet all functional and safety requirements.
- Provide technical support for post-construction rectifications and defect resolution in collaboration with the QA/QC team and consultants.
- Additional Skills & Knowledge
- Sound knowledge of M&E design requirements for both strata and non-strata developments.
- Familiarity with infrastructure design and authority compliance for data centre projects.
- Strong understanding of sustainable building practices, digital integration, and emerging M&E technologies.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Professional Engineer (Ir.) status with BEM is an added advantage.
- Minimum 8–10 years of M&E experience in property development or construction, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong technical knowledge in building services and authority requirements.
- Excellent coordination, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and M&E design review tools.
- Independent, proactive, and results-driven.
