Responsibilities

  1. Always provides proactive supervision and direction to ensure the toxic industrial waste incineration is operating as to maintain safety, environmental, and operational priorities at the optimum production level
  2. To ensure critical plant parameters are within the target and provide guidance and advice for corrective action in the event of any plant upsets or hiccups which include conducting investigation/troubleshooting
  3. Be knowledgeable on how to achieve operating targets and strategies (KPI), and lead the operating team to achieve those results
  4. To plan and communicate effectively with HOD to ensure the target is achieved
  5. Take measures to keep sufficient levels of reagents and consumables for daily plant operations
  6. To properly plan for equipment handover to maintenance to achieve minimum equipment downtime. This includes equipment handover planning for shutdown and turnaround
  7. To review and update operational work process update and review i.e risk assessment (RA), standard operating procedure (SOP)
  8. Assist in preparation and monitor monthly budgets for reagents, consumables, and all other controllable operating expenses.
  9. To support report writing/dashboard development to management on plant performance and compliance
  10. To provide support to technical compliance, safety and HR team related with operational training development and tracking within operation team
  11. Support the engineering department on plant improvement initiatives and capital project base
  12. Take the lead in energy management, improvement/modification initiatives. This includes management of change (MOC) implementation, design review, commissioning new facilities and lead Pre-Start Up Safety Review (PSSR)
  13. Create and maintain formal documents
  14. Check standard and regulatory compliance
  15. Liaise with MOM and NEA for incinerator annual statuary inspections and report submissions.
  16. Prepare procedures, check list and training materials to train technicians and operators.
  17. Co-ordinate with maintenance, engineering department and contractor for attending the respective works
  18. Co-ordinate with other departments on steam supply and waste handling
  19. Coordinate with Purchase, Admin, accounts, and sales to send the related documents in correct time
  20. Sourcing materials, contractors, and spares and liaise with suppliers for materials and spare parts purchase and delivery
  21. Liaise with external parties and organizations for the commercial and technical improvements of the plant
  22. Liaise with internal departments and external party for new projects execution.
  23. Responsible for plant safety and housekeeping
  24. To hold safety responsibilities for the role and report any unsafe situation
  25. Any other ad-hoc duties as and when, assigned by Plant Manager and Chief Engineer

Requirements:

  • A Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • At least 3 years relevant experience in toxic industrial waste industry
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office to handle daily tasks and reporting
  • Excellent knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to hazardous waste management.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
