Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain the hotel's high and low voltage electrical distribution systems in accordance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) regulations.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment, switchboards, transformers, generators, and related systems.
- Respond promptly to electrical faults and emergencies to minimise operational downtime.
- Monitor Building Management System (BMS), electrical panels, and utility consumption.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors during maintenance, repairs, and project works.
- Ensure all electrical installations comply with statutory requirements and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection reports, and equipment records.
- Assist in planning and implementing energy conservation initiatives.
- Ensure proper lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures and safe work practices are followed.
- Support hotel operations by attending to guest and departmental maintenance requests.
- Participate in emergency response procedures, including power failures and fire safety drills.
- Maintain good housekeeping within plant rooms, substations, and engineering work areas.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Chief Engineer or Engineering Management.
Requirements
- Possess a valid Chargeman A4 Certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga Malaysia.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably within hotels, commercial buildings, hospitals, or large facilities.
- Good understanding of electrical distribution systems, generators, transformers, UPS, and LV systems.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) is an advantage.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical faults independently.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willing to work on rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Basic computer literacy for maintenance reporting.
