Operations and Management Audit

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualification:

  • Preferably Bachelor's Degree, Professional Degree in Shariah/Fiqh/Usul Fiqh/Islamic Economics and Banking or other related fields.
  • Minimum three (3) years of working experience in customer related field, preferably in banking/ financial industry.
  • Pleasant personality, good communication skills and interpersonal skills and courteous.
  • Basic computer literate.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player.
  • Good verbal and writing communication skills in English with ability to effectively present audit issues to the Management.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, effective under pressure, good work attitude, and responds positively to changes.

Professional Qualification and/or Regulatory Licensing requirements Relevant Work Experience : Qualified professional qualification such as CIA/CISA/ACCA/CIMA/CCP/CBA/CPSA/CSP/CSA will be an added advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

AUDIT STRATEGIC PLAN AND ANNUAL AUDIT PLAN

  • Assist Section Head and Chief Internal Auditor in the preparation of the audit annual plans to meet stakeholders’ expectations for the Board Audit Committee’s approval.
  • Contribute to the achievement of strategies and departmental goals.

AUDIT ASSIGNMENT

  • To execute the annual Shariah audit plan including any special tasks or projects requested by Management and the Board Audit Committee.
  • To prepare Shariah audit planning, program, objectives and scope prior to the commencement of each audit assignment.
  • To perform Shariah audit assignments based on approved and standard audit methodology and principles, within the mandated timeframe and ensure that overruns are minimized.
  • To manage working papers and correspondences as to support the observations highlighted in the audit reports.

AUDIT REPORT

  • To ensure proper and timely submission of all Shariah audit reports to the Section Head and Chief Internal Auditor for review.
  • Proper and timely submission of all audit reports to the Board Audit Committee (“BAC”) and Shariah Committee (“SC”).
  • Assist in follow-up on unresolved audit issues for Operational Risk Management Committee (“ORMC”) and BAC’s deliberation on monthly basis.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

  • Assisting Chief Internal Auditor to ensure continuous improvement in audit operations and activities by exploring a more effective and efficient way to plan, execute, and monitor the audit operations.
  • Monitoring of activities and flow of a two-way communication within the Department.
  • To provide effective support to the BAC.
  • To contribute to the development and maintenance of a suitable corporate culture and image of the Bank.

RISK AND COMPLIANCE

  • Monitor and ensure compliance of the relevant guidelines and policies.
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards, and comply with all regulations/applicable laws including Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of unlawful Activities Act 2001 (“AMLA”) etc.

POLICIES, SYSTEMS, PROCESSES AND PROCEDURES

  • Implement policies, systems, processes and procedures so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality and cost-effective service.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices on improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

OCCUPATIONAL, HEALTH & SAFETY (OHS)

  • To comply with the OHS act 1994 including:-

a) “to take reasonable care for the safety and health of himself and of other persons who may be affected by his acts or omissions at work”; b) “to co-operate with his employer or any other person in the discharge of any duty or requirement imposed on the employer or that other person by this Act or any regulation made thereunder; c) “to wear or use at all times any protective equipment or clothing provided by the employer for the purpose of preventing risks to his safety and health; and d) “to comply with any instruction or measure on occupational safety and health instituted by his employer or any other person by or under this Act or any regulation made thereunder”.

OTHERS

  • Attending the monthly and special Shariah Committee meeting as the permanent invitees and participate in meeting related to Shariah issues (as and when needed).
  • Undertake other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the management from time to time or as and when necessary for the effective realization of the job purpose.
