Position: Stage Technician Location: KC Arts Centre and other performance venues Salary: To commensurate with experience Working Hours: Flexible, Capped at 200 hours per month

Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT) is looking for Stage Technicians for its productions and its venue, the KC Arts Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide audio, lighting, staging and other technical services as required.
  • To work on the bump-in and bump-out of SRT’s productions.
  • To provide technical support and assistance in the SRT’s productions.
  • To be part of the show crew in the SRT’s productions.
  • To work closely with visiting companies ensuring that their technical needs in the Venue are met.
  • To carry out due diligence checks and assist in ensuring that all Health & Safety guidelines are clearly

communicated and followed.

  • To assist with the maintenance of all technical equipment associated with the Venue.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Higher Nitec in technical theatre or other related fields of study.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical knowledge in lighting, sound, stage, video, fly and rigging.
  • Computer literacy including Sharepoint and Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations and good practices.
  • Ability to work at height.
  • Physically able to move technical equipment and scenic items safely and sensibly.
  • Willingness to work the required hours, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
  • An adaptable and flexible mindset, with the ability to respond to immediate and/or changing

demands. About SRT: Founded in 1993, Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT) is one of the leading English language theatre producers and presenters in Asia. In addition to its repertoire of original musicals like Forbidden City: Portrait of an Empress, SRT has produced a number of critically acclaimed plays including The Pillowman, 2:22 and Disgraced. SRT was the first Singaporean theatre company on Broadway in 1998 as Associate Producer of Golden Child, which went from Singapore to New York and earned three Tony Award nominations. SRT’s international collaborations include Royal Shakespeare Company’s King Lear and The Seagull starring Sir Ian McKellen, Oscar-winning Sam Mendes’ The Bridge Project (2009-2011) as well as 3 Titans of Theatre – a season of works directed by Simon McBurney, Yukio Ninagawa and Peter Brook. SRT produces the very successful Shakespeare in the Park season and is one of the biggest producers of children’s theatre in Southeast Asia with shows like The Cat in the Hat, The Ugly Duckling and The Three Little Pigs. SRT is also very active in the local community with Learning & Engagement programmes that benefit thousands of young learners and educators underpinning a substantial investment in audience and talent development for the wider industry in Singapore.
