Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate State Registered Nurse to join our Maternity Ward and Special Care Nursery team. This role involves providing high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to mothers and newborns, ensuring their well-being and a positive experience throughout their hospital stay.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum mothers, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
  • Monitor and support laboring mothers, interpreting fetal monitoring strips and administering medications as prescribed.
  • Assist with deliveries and provide immediate postpartum care to mothers and newborns.
  • Provide specialized nursing care to neonates in the Special Care Nursery, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, managing incubators, and assisting with feeding and hygiene.
  • Educate new mothers on infant care, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and discharge instructions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Respond to emergency situations promptly and effectively.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and training.

Job Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the relevant nursing board.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Maternity Ward or Special Care Nursery setting.
  • Possession of a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of obstetrics, neonatology, and maternal-child health principles.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
