Organization And Management
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments using standardized assessment tools and clinical judgement.
- Develop individualized treatment goals and intervention plans according to patients’ functional needs.
- Provide occupational therapy interventions for inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services.
- Monitor, evaluate and document patients' progress, modifying treatment plans where clinically indicated.
- Provide education and counselling to patients and caregivers on rehabilitation programmes, adaptive techniques and home management.
- Recommend and train patients in the use of assistive devices, splints and adaptive equipment where appropriate.
- Collaborate with consultants, rehabilitation physicians, nurses and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals in patient management and discharge planning.
- Maintain complete, accurate and timely clinical documentation within hospital information systems.
- Ensure patient safety, confidentiality and informed participation throughout rehabilitation programmes.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case discussions and quality improvement activities.
- Maintain, inspect and report defects in occupational therapy equipment and treatment areas.
- Comply with Infection Prevention & Control, Occupational Safety & Health, MSQH/JCI requirements and hospital policies.
- Participate in departmental audits, accreditation activities, key performance indicators and service improvement projects.
- Guide, supervise and support occupational therapy assistants, students and junior staff where applicable.
- Maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements and participate in mandatory hospital education programmes.
- Assist in developing departmental policies, clinical protocols and work instructions.
- Support research, clinical data collection and outcome measurement initiatives.
