Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan and execute scheduled, routine, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for instrumentation and control systems within approved schedules, budgets, OEM recommendations, and company and regulatory standards.
- Inspect plant instrumentation, controls, and associated equipment in accordance with daily maintenance plans, SOPs, and technical procedures, and report equipment condition, abnormalities, and work status updates to the Team Lead and relevant stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair faults affecting DCS, PLC, field instrumentation, gauges, transmitters, analyzers, control valves, electronic cards, and related control components to restore plant reliability and process stability.
- Perform calibration, loop checks, functional tests, and commissioning support for instrumentation and control equipment, ensuring accurate documentation of test results, work completion, and maintenance history in CMMS or EAM systems.
- Conduct defect analysis, breakdown response, root cause investigation, and failure analysis to determine causes of equipment underperformance or failure, and recommend corrective and preventive actions to the Team Lead.
- Develop job-specific risk assessments and implement mitigation measures for maintenance activities, and apply for Permit to Work as the appointed competent person where required by site procedures and authorization requirements.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors, and liaise with operations technicians, engineering teams, warehouse personnel, and other maintenance disciplines to execute maintenance activities safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to operations.
- Withdraw, prepare, and verify spare parts and materials for maintenance execution, and support the management of strategic and inventory spares to help maintain adequate stock availability for critical instrumentation and control equipment.
- Prepare and communicate daily maintenance updates covering completed work, open defects, plant issues, and planned activities to operations and other relevant stakeholders.
- Support compliance with gas and utilities metering requirements, including applicable EMA Gas Supply Code obligations and site-specific measurement, control, and reporting standards.
- Contribute to maintenance strategy improvement, reliability enhancement, cybersecurity compliance for industrial control systems, and continuous improvement initiatives related to instrumentation, controls, and asset integrity.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Control and
Instrumentation Engineering
- 3 Years of experience in a process plant environment
(Utilities, Oil & Gas, Chemicals)
- Experience with instrumentations and controls, gas (EMA Gas Supply Code) and utilities metering
- Experienced in condition monitoring, electrical equipment and control systems diagnostics
