Veterinary Officer

Job Description

• Monitor and maintain the overall health, welfare, and productivity of livestock.
• Conduct health checks, diagnose illnesses, and provide appropriate treatment for sick or injured animals.
• Develop and implement disease prevention, vaccination, treatment, and biosecurity programmes.
• Monitor disease outbreaks, investigate mortality cases, and implement necessary control measures.
• Support reproductive and breeding programmes while monitoring animal reproductive health.
• Maintain accurate records of treatments, vaccinations, diseases, mortality, and other veterinary activities.
• Advise and train farm employees on proper animal handling, health monitoring, welfare, and biosecurity practices.
• Ensure compliance with veterinary regulations, animal welfare standards, and proper use of veterinary medicines.

Requirements:

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with the relevant veterinary authority/body.
• Experience in livestock or dairy farm operations is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of animal health, disease prevention, treatment, and biosecurity.
• Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to work at farm locations and handle emergency cases when required.
