Job Description
- Monitor and maintain the overall health, welfare, and productivity of livestock.
- Conduct health checks, diagnose illnesses, and provide appropriate treatment for sick or injured animals.
- Develop and implement disease prevention, vaccination, treatment, and biosecurity programmes.
- Monitor disease outbreaks, investigate mortality cases, and implement necessary control measures.
- Support reproductive and breeding programmes while monitoring animal reproductive health.
- Maintain accurate records of treatments, vaccinations, diseases, mortality, and other veterinary activities.
- Advise and train farm employees on proper animal handling, health monitoring, welfare, and biosecurity practices.
- Ensure compliance with veterinary regulations, animal welfare standards, and proper use of veterinary medicines.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent qualification.
- Registered with the relevant veterinary authority/body.
- Experience in livestock or dairy farm operations is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of animal health, disease prevention, treatment, and biosecurity.
- Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to work at farm locations and handle emergency cases when required.
