The IL6S Engineer is responsible for supporting the implementation and execution of the Integrated Lean and Six Sigma (IL6S) program at the Cadbury Shah Alam plant. This role involves participating in continuous improvement projects, collecting and analyzing data, applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, enhance product quality, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

How you will contribute

You will:

  • Project Support:
  • Participate in IL6S projects under the guidance of the IL6S Lead or project leader.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope, goals, and objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of project plans and timelines.
  • Support the execution of project tasks and activities.

Data Collection & Analysis:

  • Collect and analyze data using statistical tools and techniques.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and root causes of problems.
  • Develop charts, graphs, and reports to communicate data findings.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Lean & Six Sigma Methodology Application:

  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, such as DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), Value Stream Mapping, 5S, and Kaizen, to improve processes.
  • Facilitate or participate in workshops and brainstorming sessions.
  • Develop and implement process improvements and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor the effectiveness of implemented improvements and make adjustments as needed.

Problem Solving:

  • Utilize problem-solving techniques to identify and resolve issues.
  • Participate in root cause analysis activities.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Training & Development:

  • Participate in IL6S training programs to develop knowledge and skills.
  • Apply learned concepts and tools to real-world projects.
  • Seek guidance and mentorship from experienced IL6S practitioners.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
  • Prepare reports on project progress and results.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned with other team members.

Continuous Improvement Culture:

  • Actively promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Identify and suggest opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the implementation of IL6S initiatives.

More about this role

Job specific requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Internship or project experience in continuous improvement or Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
