IT Infrastructure Network Engineer

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic IT Infrastructure Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure to ensure stable and secure operations. This role is suitable for candidates who have a solid foundation in networking concepts and are eager to develop their technical skills in enterprise network environments.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of network infrastructure.
- Assist in managing telco and network devices such as switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and VPN solutions.
- Support the execution of network security measures to protect company data, software, and hardware.
- Apply fundamental TCP/IP and networking knowledge in daily operational support activities.
- Monitor network performance and escalate potential issues when necessary.
- Troubleshoot network-related incidents and assist in resolving connectivity issues.
- Assist in incident investigations and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities.
- Follow established IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Coordinate with telecommunication service providers on connectivity and support matters.
- Support IT service delivery and help ensure agreed service levels are achieved.
- Identify operational issues and escalate risks that may impact service availability.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and operational activities.
· Advantageous to have experience or exposure to cybersecurity tools and technologies.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with 1-2 years of experience in network support or infrastructure operations will have an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of TLS, TCP/IP, Layer 2/Layer 3 networking concepts, switching, VoIP, SDWAN and routing technologies.
- Exposure to network devices such as Cisco, H3C, Huawei, Sangfor, Sophos, Palo Alto, Arista or equivalent technologies is an advantage.
- CCNA certification or progress toward a networking certification is an added advantage.
- Good communication skills in English. Mandarin proficiency is an advantage due to collaboration with overseas (eastern) teams, telco, partners and customers.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing business requirements.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to provide after-hours or on-call support when required.
Additional Responsibilities
- Work closely with customer IT teams and internal stakeholders to support network implementation activities and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
- Assist in preparing incident reports and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documentation.
- Support the operation, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the following technologies:
- Switching and Routing (Cisco/H3C/Huawei/Arista)
- Wireless Networks
- Network Access Control (NAC)
- Firewalls and Network Security Solutions (Palo Alto, SIEM, TACACS, Pen-Test, JumpHost)
- VPN Solutions
Preferred Skills
- Basic knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Understanding of IT security fundamentals and best practices.
- Familiarity with Windows Server, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory is an added advantage.
- Eagerness to learn enterprise networking and cybersecurity technologies.
