Lead/Senior Game Visual UI Designer

Electronic Arts

  • Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
  • Full-time

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

At EA, we believe games are powerful because they bring together multiple ways people engage: play, watch, create, and connect. Increasingly, the biggest entertainment platforms aren’t just places to consume content, they’re places where communities build.

Creator-made content is a proven part of EA’s history, from community creation tools in Battlefield to The Gallery in The Sims 4. We believe new creative technologies will expand how players engage with our experiences, supported by thoughtful product design, robust systems, and global reach. Our focus is on enabling more players to participate in creative expression by making creation easier, safer, and more rewarding.

We are looking for an exceptional Game UI Designer to redefine and elevate the visual identity of our game. In this role, you will not just skin wireframes: you will be the aesthetic catalyst who audits our current game, reimagines its look and feel, and establishes a bold, modern visual language that meets the highest global standards of contemporary gaming. Working closely with the Head of Design, Game designers and Product Designers, you will turn functional interfaces into stylish, immersive, and visually stunning experiences that captivate a worldwide audience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aesthetic Overhaul and Vision: Ruthlessly audit the current in-game interface and define a comprehensive visual makeover strategy. Establish a fresh, world-class aesthetic that gives Nava a distinct, recognizable identity on the global stage.
  • Establish the Visual Language: Craft the master visual style guide from scratch, including color theory, thematic typography, custom iconography suites, graphic treatments, and HUD art direction.
  • Define Motion and "Juice": Set the standard for how the game feels in motion. Design high-impact screen transitions, tactile button feedback, celebration sequences, and micro-interactions that make every interaction delightful and rewarding.
  • High-Fidelity Visual Targets: Build breathtaking concept art, vertical-slice mockups, and interactive visual prototypes that inspire the entire studio and set an undeniable benchmark for quality.
  • Harmonize 2D and 3D Worlds: Ensure the UI aesthetic integrates seamlessly with 3D game environments, lighting, and character art, blurring the line between UI and gameplay.
  • Cross-Discipline Influence: Act as the aesthetic authority for UI across the studio, partnering directly with Technical UI Artists and Engineers to ensure your visual vision is realized in-engine with pixel-perfect fidelity.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional experience shaping the visual UI identity of successful commercial games (PC, console, or top-grossing mobile titles).
  • A standout portfolio demonstrating extraordinary visual taste, master-level composition, modern typography, iconography, color mastery, and motion design in games.
  • Proven track record of conceptualizing, pitching, and executing a distinct visual style from scratch or leading a major visual overhaul for an existing game.
  • Deep finger on the pulse of global gaming aesthetic trends: you know what makes top global titles look premium, modern, and engaging.
  • Mastery of modern design and motion tools (such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, After Effects), with familiarity in real-time engine rendering pipelines (Unreal or Unity).
  • Passionate gamer and visual critic: You have a discerning eye for what separates good UI from truly world-class game aesthetics, and you are excited to push boundaries in the AI and UGC sandbox space.

Unique Opportunity

Step into a creative playground with the resources of EA and the agility of a startup and be the founding visual UI designer to build the future of UGC gaming.
