JOB PURPOSE

To support site preparations for the nursery and garden and assist with park operations and plant maintenance of Sireh Park. Execute the work or any other related assignment within the approved costs and deadlines.

Accountabilities

Responsible for growing plants, trees, and flowers, sometimes from seeds. Examine plant buds daily, especially annuals, and keep plants free from insects and disease infections.Dig, cut and transplant seedlings, cuttings trees and shrubs. Plant, spray, weed, fertilize, and water plants, shrubs, and trees using hand tools and gardening tools.

Clean work areas and maintain the grounds and landscaping of Sireh Park. Keep landscapes tidy and prune plants according to schedule.

Record information about plants and plant growth. To maintain an inventory and order supplies when materials run low.

Ensure that the general maintenance work at Sireh Park is adhered to and that safety procedures are followed.

Ensure machinery and tools are safely stored and returned in clean and serviceable condition.

Ensure that all unused or balanced agrochemicals and fertilizer are safely returned and always stored.

Ensure the working environment is well-kept, organized, and presentable.

Undertake any other tasks and assignments as directed.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS &

TECHNICAL COMPETENCES

Formal Education

School leavers, SPM, Certificate in Landscape, Horticulture, Agriculture Science, and/or other relevant discipline.

Work Experience

2 years’ experience in park maintenance and knowledgeable about park maintenance upkeep, standards and benchmarking.

Qualifications

Not essential – training / coaching will be provided.
