Principal Product Designer

Electronic Arts

  • Singapore
  • Full-time

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

Job Description

At EA, we believe games are powerful because they bring together multiple ways people engage: play, watch, create, and connect. And increasingly, the biggest entertainment platforms aren’t just places to consume content — they’re places where communities build.

Creator-made content is already a proven part of EA’s history — from community creation tools in Battlefield to The Gallery in The Sims 4. We believe new creative technologies and tools will expand how players engage with and contribute to our experiences, supported by thoughtful product design, safety systems, and global reach. Our focus is on enabling more players to participate in creative expression by making creation easier, safer, and more rewarding.

We’re looking for a Principal Product Designer to operate as the design team’s overall bar raiser and shape the future of the business unit. In this role, you will champion the long-term vision for player and creator tools, work closely with stakeholders to innovate on the future of gaming and work with the Head of Design to coach and mentor other designers in the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Quality & Innovation: Establish the core player/creator experience vision, anti-vision, and success criteria. You will set the benchmark for quality design across the project, ensuring the product feels precise, coherent, and unmistakably EA.
  • Strategic Scope Reduction: Tackle the most complex and ambiguous cross-boundary challenges, translating emerging creator capabilities into simple, elegant, high-trust experiences. You will identify high-leverage problem spaces before they even hit the roadmap.
  • Lead Prototyping & AI Integration: Guide prototyping for high-risk and high-impact areas of the platform. Act as a catalyst for modern design efficiency, setting new standards for how the team incorporates the latest design software and AI tools into the exploration, prototyping, and design delivery process.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as the connective tissue at the company level. You will drive alignment across Product, Engineering, and Architecture to ensure design requirements fit within the project scope, bridging advanced technologies with world-class, human-centric web and game experiences.
  • Executive Communication: Represent the design perspective in executive-level discussions, effectively pitching strategic initiatives and trade-offs to studio leadership.
  • Craft Leadership (IC): Elevate the overall design craft across the organization. Without directly managing staff, you will mentor peers and junior designers, drive design proficiency, run critiques, and create frameworks that embed design quality throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of professional experience in product design, UX/UI, or related fields.
  • Expert-level understanding of industry-wide product design trends and where creator platforms are heading.
  • Proven experience leading the end-to-end design of complex digital products, tools, or platform features as an individual contributor.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deliver executive-level design presentations and pitch prototyping materials to studio leadership.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with technical and product partners to bring complex features to completion.

Unique Opportunity

Be a founding member of the design team for a new business unit within Electronic Arts, playing a pivotal role in shaping both the product and the design practice from the ground up.
