The merger of Aviva Singapore and Singlife was announced in September 2020 and created one of the largest homegrown financial services companies in Singapore in a deal valued at S$3.2 billion. It was the largest insurance deal in Singapore at the time. Singlife was subsequently acquired by Sumitomo Life in March 2024, one of Japan’s leading life insurers, which valued Singlife at S$4.6 billion, making the transaction one of the largest insurance deals in Southeast Asia.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage procurement and third-party engagements in accordance with P&O Guidance, governance framework and regulatory requirements.

· Support procurement and sourcing activities, including RFQs/RFPs, vendor evaluation, supplier screening and onboarding.

· Analyze spending of related categories/key spending and identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements and value creation.

· Utilize Oracle Fusion to facilitate procurement processes including punch-out catalogue, supplier creation, purchase requisition, purchase order and goods receipt.

· Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and provide procurement guidance and support, ensure that the business operates within the framework and with appropriate governance and oversight.

· Prepare reports, management information, and documentation for audits, committees, and regulatory reviews, where required.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives within P&O.

· Operate as part of a team to achieve departmental objectives.

· Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations relating to the above functional activities.

Requirements

Experience & Attributes

· 4-6 years of experience in procurement, vendor management, or related functions.

· Knowledge of relevant regulatory, third-party risk management and business requirements.

· Knowledge of commercial strategic options and best practice category management techniques.

· Ability to communicate well with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, from senior management to junior colleagues across the Company.

· Ability to think critically and work independently, and strong use of personal initiative and organizational skills.

· Ability to track and follow-up on status of updates and work closely with relevant stakeholders.

Education

· Academic: Diploma or Degree.

· Relevant business qualifications are desirable. CIPS or other procurement certifications would be advantageous.
