Program Development Manager

Responsibilities:

• Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management: Define and execute the product roadmap for Building Automation System (BAS) controllers, I/O modules, and software frameworks from concept to end-of-life.
• Requirements Engineering: Translate market gaps, regulatory requirements, and customer feedback into detailed documents and technical user stories for hardware and software development teams.
• Regulatory Compliance & Test Management: Own the regulatory compliance roadmap for all the hardware. Act as the primary lead for identifying required certifications, drafting test plans, and coordinating directly with accredited testing laboratories and regional regulatory authorities for electronic products.
• Global Collaboration: Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary, cross-border development teams (R&D, firmware, QA, and cloud engineering) across multiple time zones to ensure alignment on product specification and release timelines.
• Partner & Sub-contractor Alignment: Work closely with external design houses on product engineering and coordinate with Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) / sub-contractors to oversee production setup, test jigs, and manufacturing quality assurance.
• Supply Chain & Sourcing Strategy: Partner with procurement teams to manage component sourcing, cost optimization (BOM tracking), and vendor relationships with suppliers, particularly inside the China ecosystem.
• Regional Market Enablement: Support sales, application engineers, and regional system integrators by arranging product training, technical documentation, and pilot deployment validation.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience: 4 to 7 years of product development management or systems engineering experience (electronic device)
• Domain Expertise: Solid understanding of Building Automation System (BAS), plant control logic, and hardware architectures for automation devices (area controllers and I/O modules).
• Technical Software Familiarity: Understand software development cycle
• Technical Hardware Familiarity : Understand hardware development cycle.
• Regulatory & Certification Expertise: Proven track record of navigating product compliance, interpreting standards, and managing the certification process for electronic hardware. Have experience dealing with CE, FCC, UL, BTL and others.
• Supply Chain & Manufacturing Exposure: Proven experience collaborating with ODM/OEM partners and navigating manufacturing ecosystems, including practical experience handling component sourcing or production lines in China.
• Language & Communication: Exceptional communication skills in English to collaborate with global offices. Proficiency in Mandarin (written and spoken) is highly advantageous to effectively coordinate with sub-contractors, design partners, and component vendors in China.
• Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel when project phases require hands-on alignment.
