Supplier Quality Engineer Job Description:
The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for managing the quality performance of Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) suppliers. The role ensures that suppliers meet ADI's quality requirements, manufacturing standards, and applicable customer-specific requirements while supporting the organization’s goal of delivering high-quality products to customers.
The Engineer serves as the primary quality contact for the assigned suppliers. The role requires close collaboration with ADI's Engineering, Customer Quality, Failure Analysis, Reliability, Operations, Planning, and other cross-functional teams. The Engineer will also provide technical engineering support for customer feedback complaints, containment of nonconforming material, and take part in ADI internal MRB review. The Engineer is expected to drive quality investigations at OSAT suppliers, timely containment and corrective actions, and promotes sustainable supplier improvement.
The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate strong technical engagement, structured problem solving, sound engineering judgment, effective supplier management, proactive risk identification, and timely communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering, Science, or an equivalent discipline.
- 7 to 10+ years of experience in supplier quality, semiconductor manufacturing, assembly and test, process engineering, product quality, or manufacturing quality.
- Strong knowledge of structured problem solving, root-cause analysis, 8D, 5-Why, corrective and preventive actions.
- Ability to interpret manufacturing data, failure-analysis results, yield performance, defect Pareto trends, and process capability.
- Experience with supplier audits, customer audits support, MRB reviews, and process or material change management.
- Working knowledge of quality-management systems, preferably including IATF 16949, ISO 9001, FMEA, ESD controls, and Automotive quality requirements.
- Proficient in spoken and written English, ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and management.
- Self-driven and able to work independently, collaborate across geographically distributed teams, and respond effectively under pressure.
- Willing to travel to OSAT supplier manufacturing sites when required.
