Job Summary

The Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) is responsible for assisting in the implementation and monitoring of all safety, health, and environmental (SHE) practices on site. The SSS works closely with site personnel, subcontractors, and management to ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, and project-specific safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Site Safety Monitoring

Conduct daily safety inspections and ensure compliance with site safety rules and procedures.

Identify unsafe conditions and practices, and recommend corrective actions.

Ensure all workers use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

2. Toolbox Meetings and Briefings

Conduct daily toolbox briefings before work starts.

Assist in promoting a safety-first culture through continuous engagement with workers.

Keep records of all safety briefings and attendance.

3. Safety Documentation

Maintain site safety records including daily inspection reports, incident reports, and safety checklists.

Assist the Safety Officer in compiling safety reports for internal and client use.

Ensure proper documentation of all safety permits and related documents.

4. Incident and Accident Response

Respond to any accidents or near misses on site.

Assist in preliminary investigations and reporting.

Take immediate actions to prevent recurrence.

5. Safety Compliance and Enforcement

Enforce compliance with site safety procedures and legal regulations.

Issue warnings or stop-work instructions for unsafe acts or non-compliance.

Monitor subcontractor compliance with the site’s safety rules.

6. Support to Safety Officer

Support the Safety and Health Officer in implementing the Safety and Health Plan.

Assist in coordinating emergency response and evacuation drills.

Ensure safety signages, first aid kits, and fire extinguishers are available and maintained.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) certificate issued by DOSH (Yellow Book Holder)
  • Minimum: SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) or equivalent

Able to work independently and under pressure

Good reporting and observation skills

Expected Minimum Years of Experience

Minimum 3 years working experience in construction or infrastructure projects
