Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe shift
operation of the plant in compliance with regulatory and company standards and requirements, to meet the contractual obligations to customers.
- Monitor status of all plant
systems and review reports on a daily basis to ensure that all abnormalities are investigated and rectified in compliance with regulatory and company standards and requirements, e.g., PTW (Permit To Work), LOTO (Log Out Tag Out), etc.
- Plan, deploy and manage the
shift team to ensure the safe operation and security during shift e.g., conduct toolbox talks, DCS logic tracing and analysis
- Plan, train and rotate the
Operations Technician between control room and field to sustain core operational competencies.
- Troubleshoot and recommend
solutions to Operations Manager to resolve operational issues.
- Implement optimization
projects to improve productivity and plant performance.
- Engage internal and external
stakeholders (trading, maintenance, authorities, customers, vendors, etc) to resolve routine contractual or operations issues
- Ensure proper reporting and
documentation of operational issues and performance.
- Ensure timely and accurate
submission of daily plant consumption figures to relevant internal stakeholders' use (e.g., trading, key account management, etc)
- Successful candidate can be
appointed as part of the Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) (training will be provided)
- Start-up/Shut down Gas turbine
and steam turbine as per start-up/shut down schedule.
- Act in emergency to avoid
undue trips to process steam export and meet the load schedule without any non-conformance.
- Investigate plant
abnormalities, and take corrective course of action during shift (plant trips, unit de-ration, occurrence of fire etc.)
- Carry out first-level
maintenance as required.
- Carry out routine GT fuel
changeover and equipment changeover without affecting the plant operation.
- Analyzing the problem
encountered and find solution/procedure/practices to avoid the repetition.
- Monitor performance and
maintain optimum unit efficient during operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Diploma with relevant
technical qualification
- Minimum 3 years relevant working experience
- Good communication and
leadership skills
- Positive attitude and
self-motivated
- Boiler Attendant and/or Steam
Engineer certification will be an added advantage
